Glossary
This document explains frequently used Syncly terms and metrics from a customer perspective. Metric definitions may change as the product is updated or as platform data policies change.Core objects
Workspace
A space for managing data by team, brand, or client. Within a workspace, you manage Query, Dashboard, Post, and Report together.Query
The criteria that define which brand, product, or topic Syncly should collect and analyze data for. Posts are collected based on a Query, and Dashboards and Charts are created from it.Post
An individual piece of social content collected based on Query conditions. Dashboard metrics and Charts are calculated from Posts.Dashboard
A screen where you can review a Query’s analysis results as metrics, charts, and tables. You can quickly check overall scale, trends, platform distribution, Sentiment, themes, and more.Library Post
A feature for quickly searching original Posts in a workspace and checking platform-by-platform Post count trends over the last 30 days. Daily aggregation in Library Post is displayed based on the workspace time zone. TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels are shown together each day, and days with no matching Posts are shown as 0.Report
A shareable document that organizes analysis results. A Report freezes the data and content at the time it is created as a Snapshot.Key metrics
Mention
Mention is one of the dimensions used to break down data in Charts and analysis. Rather than being a separate “Mention Volume” metric, in customer-facing documentation you can usually understand it as the number of Posts that include a specific Mention. When interpreting this metric, use it to understand how often a specific brand, product, or keyword is being discussed.View
A view-based metric provided by each platform. Use it to understand the scale of actual content views. However, because not every platform provides views in the same way, it is best to review View together with Impression when comparing across platforms.Impression
A Syncly-standard metric for comparing how widely content was exposed, adjusted for differences in metrics provided by each platform.| Platform | Impression calculation |
|---|---|
| Likes + comments | |
| Instagram Post | Likes + comments |
| Upvotes + comments | |
| Other platforms | Views |
Engagement
A metric that sums the number of user reactions to content. In Syncly, Engagement is the sum of the following:- Save
- Comment
- Like
- Share
Engagement Rate
Engagement divided by Views. If Views are 0, Engagement Rate is also calculated as 0. Use Engagement Rate to compare how strong reactions were relative to view volume.Sentiment
An AI-generated analysis result that labels a Post as Positive, Neutral, or Negative based on its context. These labels are used in Charts and filters to compare the direction of reactions.- Positive: A reaction with a favorable context toward the analysis target.
- Neutral: A reaction that is closer to information sharing or a simple mention, without a clear positive or negative tone.
- Negative: A reaction with a critical or dissatisfied context toward the analysis target.
